How to get to the arena

The superior location of the arena right in the heart of Tampere means that it is incredibly convenient to reach. Here, you can find directions for arriving at the arena on foot and by different means of transport.

On foot

Getting to the arena on foot is easy and convenient. You can walk to the arena via Sorinsilta and Sorinkatu. There are two routes on Sorinsilta, located on Kansikatu and between the Deck buildings Opaali and Topaasi. The third route to the arena is located on Sorinkatu from where you can turn to Kansikuja.

Leaving the arena is also easiest on foot, because everything is located nearby. Most of the hotels in the centre of Tampere are just a short walk away.

By bike

There is no designated bike parking in the Deck area or Sorinsilta. There are several bike parking areas near the Deck area, about 250 metres from the arena: next to Vuolteenkatu and the parks on Tuomiokirkonkatu, in addition to Sorinkatu and Ratapihankatu. Kick and electric scooters can also be parked in these parking areas.

By tram

You can get to the arena using either of two tram lines. When arriving by tram line 1, the nearest stop to the arena is Sorin aukio, which is located on Hatanpään valtatie. When arriving by tram line 3, the nearest stop is Tulli, located on Itsenäisyydenkatu. The nearest tram stop is located at Sorin aukio from where you can walk to the arena in a few minutes. You can see the tram routes here.

By bus

Most of the local buses of Tampere stop in the centre of Tampere, which is just a short walk away from the arena. The nearest bus stops are Linja-autoasema (Bus station), Rautatieasema (Railway station), Sorin aukio, Ratina and Yliopisto (Tampere University).

By train

Tampere Central Railway Station is located about 600 metres from the arena. You can get to the main entrance of the arena from the railway station in about 5 minutes. Additional trains to Helsinki will be arranged during concerts and large events, if necessary. See the current train timetables on the website of VR.

By taxi

During arrival, Sorinkatu is passable. Wheelchair taxis may bring customers to Sorinkatu, which has accessible entrance to the arena. Wheelchair taxis are able to make a U-turn and leave through the southern end of Sorinkatu.

The new taxi station serving Nokia Arena visitors can be found on the odd side of Sumeliusenkatu, at the end of the street on the side of Kalevantie.

By long-distance bus

Long-distance buses stop at the Tampere bus station, located 600 metres from the arena. You can walk from the bus station to the arena in about 5 minutes.

By car

We recommend that you leave your car at home, because the arena does not have its own designated parking areas. However, there are 4,500 parking spaces near the arena, a 5–10-minute walk away from the main entrance. The nearest parking facilities are:

The free park & ride areas of the city of Tampere can be used freely during events at the arena.

By charter bus

There are two parking places for charter buses near the arena, on Rautatienkatu and at the bus station. The parking places are meant only for drop-off and pick-up.

By plane

From the Tampere-Pirkkala Airport

The distance from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport to the arena is about 16 kilometres. You can get to the arena from the airport by car or taxi or using the Tampere public transport bus lines. See the public transport schedules and routes on the Nysse website.

From the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

The most convenient way to get to the arena from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is by car, long-distance train (switch from a commuter train to a long-distance train in Tikkurila) or a Matkahuolto bus.
